Pakistan Emergency Fund raises £180,000

In light of the devastating floods in Pakistan, The Big Give Pakistan Emergency Fund raised £180,000 by doubling online donations to the emergency appeals.

Reed Specialist Recruitment and Lloyd’s Charities Trust joined with individual funders to match over 700 public donations. This raised a total of £180,000 for the participating charities:

Christian Aid
Disasters Emergency Committee
British Red Cross

All of the above are using the funds to provide urgent aid, such as food, water, shelter and medicine, to those most affected.

Sir Alec Reed, founder of The Big Give, said “Matched Funding Challenges are a really effective way of doubling support for emergency appeals. I am delighted that our Pakistan Emergency Fund has encouraged so many donations to help those affected by this terrible disaster. Thank you to everyone who gave so generously.”
