The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2011 runs from 10am on 5th December and will match thousands of donations made to hundreds of charities and raise millions of pounds!
This will be the Big Give’s fourth annual Challenge – over £20m has already been raised in the past three years.
As a donor this is a fantastic opportunity for your gift to be matched and make twice the impact for the cause closest to your heart.
Donations to charities who are participating in the Challenge are matched by a combination of Big Givers, who have chosen to support a wide range of charities, and major donors and friends of your chosen charity.
They and will reward your generosity by matching however much you would like to donate! (You can have up to £5,000 matched to any particular charity – there is no limit on how many charities you donate to though!)
To have your donation matched simply find the charity you wish to support using our charity A-Z. All you need to do then is click on their project link and hit donate!
The Christmas Challenge will be paused each day when that day’s matched funding has been exhausted. If you try to donate during this time you will receive a clear message saying that matching has been paused. If this is the case, just come back at 10am the next day.
Times are hard for charities, as we all know. It is necessary for us all to pull together to prevent the thousands of good causes from being abandoned. This is why the Big Give wants to reward philanthropists of all levels, by matching donations to a whole range of causes. By making a donation you get to choose who receives the matching funds that our Big Givers have provided – and get your donation matched in the meantime!
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is a celebration of giving and you play a vital part -whether it is giving £5 or £5,000. Without you many causes would not continue to be supported.
